Candy Making

While I was watching the Barney show with Mummy, Daddy wandered around United Square and came across this shop that makes candy. And there were these 2 gor-gor who were making Christmas candies ..

See how the gor-gor in front was 'kneading' the candy dough on a metal stand to make the texture smooth ... but how come the other side of the stand has a cap hanging on it ??? Is the stand supposed to be used for candy making or .... ???? Hygienic or not ???

Anyway, the dough is made of water, sugar and glucose, with permitted baking colorings



See the signboard of the candy shop ... free advertisement for them ... ha ha. The way they knead the dough, like making cake .... but it is really tough work, cos the temperature of the table cannot be too hot, otherwise the dough will get burnt. If it is too cold, then the dough hardens too fast ... so kneading the viscous dough requires lots of strength.



Now making the pattern of the christmas candy .... looks like playdoh fun ....



The last few steps to the final product ...



And the final product .... stretching it to make the candies with the shape of a snowman in the middle !!! Really amazing that they know what they need to do to make a snowman pattern in the middle ... and believe me, the snowman pattern is really clear (just that Daddy's phone video cannot zoom in) !!!



And Daddy bought one pack of candy with roasted nut embedded inside them ....
