Kite Flying at West Coast Park

Ever since the last attempt to fly kite at West Cost park and failed, Daddy and Mummy decided to bring me there again for another try. We bought a Toy Story kite at Takashimaya shopping centre almost a month back, so this time, we brought the toy story kite along (Daddy blamed it on the previous kite when we failed the last time)

We wanted to go in the morning, but it was drizzling. Luckily, after my afternoon nap, the sky was clear, so we set off to the West Coast park immediately, with my bike and new kite.

Upon reaching there, the place was full of people flying kite ... see the number of kites up in the sky. And indeed it was a nice windy weather to have all the kites soaring in the sky.

So without further ado, Daddy fixed up the toy story kite and we were ready to go !!!

See me holding the kite at one end, while Daddy held the string at the other, ready to let our kite soar up in the sky

First attempt to get the fly off the ground ..... not much luck yet

And the second attempt, got a little better, but still not really up in the sky. But the third attempt, we managed to get the kite off the ground

And then we released the string more to let the kite fly higher ... and tada, the Toy Story kite was high up in the sky, flying beautifully

And then I took over the control .... do I look like a professional ???

We saw all kites of all sorts of different shapes and sizes .... and see this eagle kite, looks like the real bird

And yes, a Doraemon kite beside my Toy Story kite

Never knew that penguins can also fly up in the sky

Err .... dunno what that is, but really colourful

But the best kite has to be this octopus-like kite .... it looked small up in the sky, but ....

On ground, this kite is bigger than a person !!!

And the master in controlling the kite was this man !!!

Then Mummy's turn to fly the kite .... the wind speed was lower than before, so Mummy did not have much luck. And since it was quite close to dinner time, we called it quits and went for dinner

So yes, it was the poorly designed kite the last time that we could not get it lifted off the ground ... Auntie Winnie gave me a bigger kite so will try that out the next time ....
