Japan Trip - Day 2

Second day of my trip. Weather forecast the previous night said it might be raining again, so Mummy did a google search on the Net for some indoor activities. And to her surprise, the Tokyo Sea Life Park was having their anniversary on 10 Oct 2010 and admission was free (otherwise, each adult fee was about 700 yen, ie. about S$11 ... that was still cheaper than the Singapore Underwater World) !!! And since that place was definitely indoor, that was our destination in the morning.

Because I woke up quite late in the morning, we reached that place at about 1030 hrs.

Nowadays, I learnt to pose for photos

Comparing my height against that of the tuna ....

First saw the hammerhead sharks swimming 'freely' in the water

And the colourful fishes

The American Lobster ... much bigger than the Boston Lobster that we normally see in Singapore ....

Creatures of the deep sea ....

Even the arctic and antartic oceans

Water well maintained at 1 degC ....

Penguins everywhere

The jellyfish
The squids

And the look-alike mudskipper fishes, the shuttles hoppfish

Some videos ....

This was the area that we can touch and feel the sharks and stingray ....

We had lunch at the cafe in the Tokyo Sea Life Park. Ordered a kid's meal (non spicy curry rice) and it came with jelly

Then we proceeded to the fresh water area, which was situated in a park

Man-made stream

Posing again ....

But the freshwater fishes were not as colourful as the seawater fishes .... guess the seawater minerals made a huge difference.

Next stop in the afternoon was Asakusa, the place with the famous shrines. And we saw the familiar Saizeriya that is found in Singapore. The price is about the same as that in Singapore

Enjoying the matcha ice-cream while being carried in the Ergo. I liked that ice-cream since it is not as cold as the typical potong ice-cream

The Asakusajinja Shrine

One of the guardian of the shrine, so fierce looking ....

Entrance of the shrine

Guess what were all these people doing in front of the urn ? Yes, absorbing the essence of the incense .... and we did the same also, to bring good luck to ourselves and back home

And the holy water that we used to wash our hands

Saw the famous capsule hotel that the Japanese always mentioned

And taking a photo with the pumpkin man

And the frog mascot on the street.

We went for dinner at Ueno, near our hotel. This is what we ordered for dinner !!! Yummy

Then after dinner, we went to the famous Ginza to take a look at the high-end shopping district. Bought these buns to eat ... tasted very different from the normal buns ... a little bit chewy but tasty

And seemed like this bread shop was pretty popular ... lots of people queueing up for their bread

The skyline of the Ginza district at night

We went back hotel at about 9 pm to call home, before going to bed... Daddy and Mummy promised me that I will have my pony ride the following day .... hooray !!!!
