Sundown 10 km Run

Daddy went for his second 10 km run for this year : The Sundown Run held at Changi Exhibition Centre. It is his first run in the evening since all his previous runs started in the morning.

Because of the narrow lanes to the carpark which caused quite a jam, Daddy was 10 mins late for this run. So he started at 610 pm although the flag off was at 6 pm. And gosh, although the sun was down, it was super humid. Not long after, his shirt was soaked with sweat since it cannot evaporate. The humidity only got better near 7 pm. Good thing is that the run was all on asphalt road, with no ups and downs. Daddy had to walk for a short distance after the 8 km mark just to take a little breather

Daddy completed his run in about 60 mins with a rank of 340 for his category (13% of runners finished before him). And for males between 30 and 34 years old, Daddy was ranked 69th place ... good result for him and he got his finisher's medal, making it the 7th medal so far

In fact, Daddy had his photo taken by the organizers when he crossed the finish line

Daddy is thinking whether he should sign up for the Singapore Bay Run in Sep 2011 ...

Zoolympix 2011

Yes, the day is finally here, after all the countdown and crosses on the calendar !!! I woke up super early that day, at about 630 am, and could not go back to sleep. Cannot wait to meet 表妹 and family at the zoo entrance at 830 am .... and there was 2 hours more to wait !!

Had milk and bread at home, before we set off to the zoo. Met 表妹 and family on time and in we go. The Zoolympix 2011 was on during the school holidays (and that was the reason we chose to go to the zoo during this period). Immediately, we took a photo of the Zoolympix board

Daddy tried to get 表妹 to touch the pony, but failed .... think the pony is still too big for her


The zoo renovated the rabbit enclosure and now it is more beautiful than before.

And they allowed kids to have close contact with the rabbits as well


The Animal Friends show. As usual, before the show started, all kids were invited to go on stage to dance with the trainer. So I was the first to go up ...



And I kept raising my hand up in the sky to be selected as a volunteer. Finally my turn came ... and I was to throw frisbee to the German Sheppard

And all volunteers were given a frisbee as a gift

Went to feed the giraffe next ...

Of course we have to end the adventure with fun at the Water Playground. Unfortunately 表妹 had to take her afternoon nap so she did not join me.

We left the zoo at about 3+ pm to catch my afternoon nap while 表妹 and family continued with their adventure ... she was like a re-chargeable Energizer battery, ready to go exploring the zoo till 5 pm once she has taken her power nap
