Celebrate 表妹 Second Birthday

On Saturday, we went to celebrate 表妹 two year old birthday. I slept till 5 pm for my afternoon nap, and was about 20 mins late to reach the hotel. And when I saw 表妹, must take a photo with the birthday gal.

Squeezing her by the neck in case 表妹 kept running away
And Daddy also wanted to take a photo with the birthday gal, with me as the photographer. That was why the photo was a little blur
Then it was time to hit the buffet. See how 表妹 and myself enjoyed the buffet spread. We just love buffets
Kaya pancakes

And marshmellow. Not just one but 3 on a stick. 表妹 only ate one, since she just recovered from fever
And demonstrating the correct way to eat ice-cream. Let the scoop of ice-cream melt a little, and then pour the melted ice-cream from the cone to a spoon, then "drink" the ice-cream. The Jing Ting way to finish an ice-cream
Finish off with some fruits, after wiping clean the plate of noodles, fish, broccoli, mushroom etc
Then it was time to take a walk around the hotel with Daddy. 表妹 sitting on the sofa, posing for Daddy
And then both of us ....

The birthday cake !!!
Singing the birthday song, and blowing out the candle

Happy Birthday 表妹 !!! And enjoy your school !!!

Rainforest and Maths

Last week, we learnt all about the rainforest in school ... and there was even a song about the 4 different layers of the rainforest :

Forest floor, Understory layer, Canopy layer and Emergent layer. For more information, click here

And then I moved on to skip counting (in 2s)

Daddy and Mummy are always happy to see me progressing and learning well in school

Farewell for Auntie

The auntie who cooks for the school is going to leave next week, because she has to take care of her grandson full time. So I decided to make a farewell card for her.

When I first enrolled in my school at 16 months, auntie took special care of me and took care of my special diet. That time, I was still allergic to eggs, milk and dairy products. So auntie had to cook specially for me by excluding ingredients that I was allergic to.

So thinking hard on how to draw

And the final product .... the front page : an orange castle (err ... does it look like one ???) in a very nice surrounding

And inside the card reads ....

Close-up view :

All the best to auntie !!! I will miss you !!!

Let's Play Non-Stop II

On Sunday, we went to Lot 1 in the evening for dinner, and we saw the Singapore Sports Council having their Let's Play Non-Stop event again. The last time I participated in that event was in Apr 2011 at IMM.

The first station - Javelin throw. Must have a pretty pose before I sent the javelin flying far out

The next station - medicine ball throw

Standing broadjump.
And the vertical jump. Hit the 150 cm mark

The last station where gor-gor was explaining to me the rules of the game. To jump to the correct numbered square as he shouted out the number. And of course, that was too simple for me

Daddy went to exchange the card for a lucky dip - and he got a bottle of coke.

But the best game station for me was the Xbox Kinnect - the one that Joel brought over to my place the last few times !!!

CCK GRC Carnival 2011

On Sunday, there was the CCK GRC Carnival at Yew Tee central. So after breakfast, Daddy brought me there, while Mummy went to do her groceries. Lots of residents went.

Daddy helped me queue up to play at the various game booths while I stayed in the shade. Haha. First game : throwing the horse shoe. Did not manage to get any horse shoe in

Then the mini golf game. Again, I am not cut out to be a golfer !!!

Then I saw a zebra mascot dancing away. So how could I resist taking a photo with Mr Zebra

The last game station - throwing the mini hoop. And I succeeded to throw the 2 hoops into the ring without any help. So I got a prize !!!!

While I was about to go home, the MC announced that he wanted all the children to play tug-a-war with the MPs and Mummies on the other end (idea is to pit the children - the future leaders against the adults). So I went to join

I kept looking out for Daddy just in case .... guessed I did not really understand what tug-a-war was .... was quite confused and lost
Just before the war started, I gave up and went back to Daddy .... too rowdy for me. Haha.

Then I went home to wait for 表妹 to come to our place for some fun.

A Night Safari Adventure

Ever since the last time when Daddy brought me along to the Night Safari during his company event, I have been wanting to go back to the Night Safari.

So Daddy saw a good deal (50% off) at Singapore Deals (http://www.deal.com.sg/) for Night Safari tickets. Each adult cost $16 instead of $32 and each child ticket cost $11 instead of $22. However, by the time Daddy was ready to log into the internet to purchase the tickets, the child ticket offer was fully bought, only adult tickets were on offer. So Daddy bought 2 adult tickets.

We decided to go for our Night Safari adventure on Saturday evening. Went with 公公 as well since his senior citizen ticket cost only $16. And my child ticket cost more than the adult tickets !!! On hindsight, Daddy should have bought another adult ticket for me at the Singapore Deals instead. Haha

Anyway, see me fully geared up for the adventure

Reached there at about 7 pm since the Safari opens only at 730 pm

Taking some photos at the entrance

But once we entered the place, it was really crowded !!! Lots of visitors and queueing up ....

See the massive crowd ... waiting for ???

Joining in the queue as well

And you got it !!! Waiting for the tram ride

Displaying my photography skills, since I was bored waiting

Finally, we got onto the tram, after 40 mins of queue time

We decided not to get off the tram, but enjoyed the nice breeze and tour. The tram ride took about 30 mins to complete the tour, and brought us back to the starting point. The next show for the performance "Creatures Of The Night" was at 930 pm, but gosh, when we reached there at 845 pm, the queue started to form and was quite long. So Mummy decided to join the queue while Daddy brought me and 公公 to explore the Forest Trail.

We saw the Black Rats ....

And Ghost Fish. And the name was really suitable, because we could not see the fish at all .... really a ghost

Taking a photo with 公公 inside the cave. In fact, we saw scorpions, snakes and the creepy creatures and I was rather scared. Kept holding onto Daddy's hand

After we were allowed to go into the amphitheatre at 915 pm for the show. We missed the show the last time at Daddy's company event since it was rather late and we were not prepared to stay that late (I took a 2.5 hrs nap on Sat afternoon before my trip)

The amphitheatre filled with people anxiously waiting for the show to start

See owls of different sizes. And I know they are nocturnal animals

A volunteer to handle the really big python. And no wonder they asked a a REALLY STRONG man on stage. Imagine the weight of the python on your neck

And otters showing they are able to recycle items

We took a walk on the Fishing Cat Trail after the show, before we left the Night Safari at about 1030 pm. And that night, I was really knocked out, and did not wake up in the middle of the night till the following morning.

But no more Night Safari tour for a long long time. Really ex ....

华人或洋人

I was walking through some stalls at the pasar malam one evening with Daddy, when suddenly I just pinched my nose tightly, and said "臭死了,快点走". And I quickly dragged Daddy and moved on. Daddy was amused by my strong reaction to the smell .... can you make a guess what the smell was ??

臭豆腐 ?? Wrong !!!

It was none other than the King of Fruits, DURIAN !!! Since young, I have been rejecting the taste of durian. Daddy and Mummy bought some durians back home when I was kind of 18 months, and let me taste a bit. I spat it out immediately. Even when 姑姑 bought the famous Goodwood Park Hotel durian cake back, I refused to touch the durian filling, but just eat the cream on top. And now, due to the durian season, where the air is filled with durian smell, I am suffering .... haha. How come I did not inherit the genes from Daddy and Mummy to have a liking for durians ???

By right, usually only the Westerners dislike durians, so should I be considered as a 洋人 instead ?? However, I simply love Chinese and Japanese food, like rice, noodles, chicken, but hate sandwich, pasta, pizza etc !!!

Weird gal like me ... should I be considered a 华人或洋人 ??

Countdown in Jul 2011

In the month of Jul, there are 2 main activities that I am counting down to :

1. 表妹 birthday celebration on 17 Jul, where we are going to celebrate her birthday. Have gone to buy her present, but will keep it a secret for now. I am sure the present is something that 表妹 will love

2. Daddy is going to take leave deliberately on 26 Jul to watch me swim in school during my swimming lesson. Remember the time when Daddy was a "peeping tom" and hid behind the trees to watch me swim in school, I just missed Daddy watching me swim. So this time, Daddy gladly obliged me !!! Hooray ... and I told Daddy, no more peeping through the trees .....

Have marked the 2 dates down on the calendar ... and start crossing the days as they go by
