Fun Day with Daddy

Bonding time with Daddy since I skipped school to avoid catching the HFMD virus. So in the morning, Daddy brought me to Ikea to have breakfast. They serve pretty cheap and nutritious breakfast. I chose pancakes - 2 pieces with syrup for only $1 !!! Daddy chose the $2.90 set, which came with croissat, a slice of cheddar cheese, 2 mini chicken sausages a harshbrown and free flow of coffee !!! Cheaper than what you can get from hawker centres !!! So I 'stole' a mini sausage and a bit of harshbrown from Daddy, haha.

But the real reason Daddy brought me to Ikea was not for the breakfast, but for the free play at SmaLand !!! He knew I enjoyed that a lot, especially when I can make new friends there. So at 10 am, when it opened, I went in for an hour of play. And wthin a few minutes, I managed to make a few new friends (3 french boys, who can also speak a little English). And we played treasure hunt !!! So while I was having great fun, Daddy was happily sipping his free flow of coffee and meddling with his iPhone !!! Haha

Then we went over to Vivocity since Daddy had to settle some banking issues. And then it was my call to have more fun at Vivocity. We spent some time at the open air playground, before we went to Pets Lover Centre to take a look at the animals. And there was a Dog Spa where there were 3 dogs at the spa station, meaning jacuzzi !!! But no matter how I looked at the 3 dogs, they did not seem to enjoy the water jetting pool. All 3 appeared to be shivering .... so much for dog spa.

We went for lunch at Fig & Olive, since Daddy asked if I wanted to eat pasta. And see what I ordered

Even showed Daddy the correct way to eat pasta ... haha

I was enjoying my pasta until halfway, I told Daddy it was spicy ... haha. Daddy thought I would not have tasted the little black pepper that was sprinkled on my pasta .... so in the end, I ate about 1/3 of the pasta, and then followed by 4 tamago sushi once I stepped out of the restaurant. Yummy.

We went to 爷爷 and 奶奶 place to catch my afternoon nap and had dinner there. Great time with Daddy

Day Trip to JB

Since Daddy and Mummy decided to keep me at home, and not attend school due to high number of cases of HMFD, we decided to make a day trip to JB to do some grocery shopping. And the most important item to buy is my steroid cream, in case my eczema gets worse again (JB does not need any doctor prescription while over in Singapore, need to see a doctor before we can buy it at the pharmacy ... which means more expensive !!!)

Went to this big shopping centre and saw some christmas decorations ...

Bought a red blouse for myself, and Daddy bought a pair of prescription swimming goggles (cheaper than those found in Singapore). Went to do some grocery shopping, at Tesco, before we headed home. On the way back, we wanted to drop by the newly opened KSL shopping mall, but somehow or rather, Daddy tried to follow the roadsign, but after a few rounds, did not manage to find it, so we gave up

Had dinner at Causeway Point, before we headed home .... since I skipped my afternoon nap again, I slept really early at 8 pm again.

Alvin and The Chipmunks Movie

On Christmas Day, we went to catch Alvin and The Chipmunks 3. Olivia (my classmate) went with her Daddy to watch and they said it was a nice movie, really suitable for kids. So after much deliberation, I decided to go watch it. The movie was given a classification of "G", so it must be safe for kids to watch (compared to Smurfs which had a classification of PG13).

So we went to watch at Yishun GV with free movie tickets from Daddy's company. Caught the morning show, so that I can come back to sleep in the afternoon. Was early so we went to Northpoint and saw the advertisement for Mr Moon. Missed that when they were here at Yew Tee Point

Anyway, when the movie started, I truly enjoyed it .... until the Uncle Ian appeared in his chicken mascot suit. I started to fidget a little, closing in on Mummy and Daddy .... still not too bad compared to The Smurfs movie when Gargamel appeared. Somehow or rather, I knew who the unfriendly guy was, even when I did not fully understand what was said.

But the breakpoint had to be the eruption of the active volcano, which sent splatters of molten lava all about ... and compounded with some other kids, which broke down and cried, I did the same ... really wailed !!! So Mummy had to carry me in her seat, and try to comfort me .... I turned to sobbing .... and occasionally wailing. Fortunately, the volcano eruption scene did not last too long, and chipmunks and gang manage to escape unharmed. Then I returned back to my normal state, and agreed to sit in my own seat.

Sigh ... is there a movie that is classified more benign than"G", like "C", meaning "Childish" or "Cartoonish" ???

Doraemon Show

This is the 4th show that I managed to catch in the shopping mall so far, during the festive season. And this time is at Lot 1 shopping mall, close to my house

Took photos with the displays prior to the performance

I managed to catch a good seating at the front. So while waiting for the show to start, the organizer had some lightings display, that managed to "WOW" all the kids, with our eyes chasing after the lightings.

And the show started at 7 pm. When Doraemon and his friends came on stage from the magical door one by one, we all clapped and cheered

Singing and dancing ...

The Doraemon theme song, and I think every kid can relate easily to the song, even when sung in Japanese

And the ever popular christmas song that everyone knows

Shall see if there are more kiddy performances that I can catch over the next few weeks

SSO Babies' Proms 2011

We waited for a long time, before the day finally arrived !!! The annual SSO Babies' Proms 2011 !!! Had to skip school in the morning to attend the 10 am session at The Esplanade. As with last year, we reached a little earlier about 915 am, to take photos outside the concert hall.

And then a jie-jie approached Daddy and Mummy and asked them if they wanted me to go on stage to conduct the orchestra. And of course, this was what I wanted as well, so they agreed. And in fact, this year is the second time I conducted the orchestra (first time was 2010 Babies' Proms).

Took quite a number of photos with the balloons decorations, similar to last year.

Waiting for my balloon sculptures. Had a sword and a flower ring

Then we went into the concert hall to attend the pre-concert activity.

And the concert started. Daddy and Mummy were quite disappointed with the orchestra when they played the first piece (just 1 min or so into the piece). The orchestra seemed like they did not really rehearse that well, since some mistakes were quite obvious .... sigh. Guess, since this concert was really catered for young kids, we should not be too critical.

Some pieces were the same as last year, but Uncle Peter Moore changed the theme a little to the theme of the pirates this year. I enjoyed the concert quite a lot, especially during the interactive portion, waving my hands up in the sky, clapping my hands according to the tempo etc. But what was frustrating was that an older girl was crying practically throughout the concert (sitting at my row, 5 seats away form me), and her grandmother just refused to get out of the concert hall, but kept stuffing her with fruit juices and snacks (and that was the only times that she stopped crying) !!! The girl obviously did not enjoy the concert, but her grandmother kept insisting her to stay inside the concert hall.

And the time came when I was supposed to go up on stage to conduct the orchestra !!! And this time, I fared a lot better than last year. Kept to the correct tempo (almost ... except towards the end, I slowed down a bit, looking lost ... and the orchestra was lost as well. Haha), did not accelerate towards the end like last year. Daddy and Mummy were so proud of me

And the last piece, the kids were allowed to go up on stage to be close to the orchestra.

After the concert, we had to leave immediately, to rush back to my school to join the christmas party / celebration.

Eagerly waiting to attend 2012 Babies' Proms

Garfield Performance

Just nice ... there was a Garfield and Friends performance at Jurong Point. So after dinner, we went to take a look

Odie !!!! The person behind Odie has the simplest job ... no speech required on stage

Then more friends. Daddy tried to google to find out their names. And he got Nermal (left) and Penelope (??) (Garfield's gf)

When Garfield came out on stage, everyone was excited

And then they taught us the first dance steps ....

And it was the only dance steps throughout the show .... haha

And the show finished off with some christmas songs ...

Daddy felt that the Garfield show was pretty boring. Too much talking and too little engagement from the audience. But considering it was free, cannot complain too much. Haha

Doraemon Exhibition

Went to Lot 1 for dinner and we chanced upon the Doraemon exhibition in the shopping complex. So after dinner, I dragged Daddy and Mummy to the exhibition to take photos

The entire clan of Doraemon ....

And photo time !!!

All photos were taken with Da Xiong or Doraemon. Do not like the bullies !!! Haha

Happy Feet 2

Since Daddy has some free movie tickets given by his company, and the year end is approaching with a lot of kiddy movies, we decided to go and watch Happy Feet 2 on Sat afternoon.

Compared to "The Smurfs" movie, Happy Feet 2 is a lot more "benign" in the sense that there is no bad guys in the movie, just penguins singing and dancing. So should suit my taste.

Happily waiting for the movie to start at GV Jurong Point. I sat on the booster seat, in case the person in front of me was too tall, blocking my view.

And the movie started. Was happily enjoying the penguins dancing and singing. Visual effects were great, and great details drawn on the cartoon characters. However, in the middle of the movie, I started to fidget and wanted to get out of the cinema, and not watch the movie anymore ... eyes were getting slightly red. And the reason was the penguins were facing some trouble, and they were rendered helpless ....

Mummy had to let me sit on her lap, and occasionally, I tried to peek at the screen, and then turned my head the other way from the screen .... managed to stay in the cinema all the way, and towards the end, where the penguins were all saved, I enjoyed the singing and dancing again.

Daddy and Mummy also enjoyed the movie .... not just for kiddy, but also suitable for adults. And all the songs were really nice

Sigh .... any more movies more benign than Happy Feet 2 ??? Daddy and Mummy were thinking of bringing me to watch "The Muffets" .... so should I go ?

Fidgets At Turf City

Remember I mentioned previously that my school was closed on Monday, and that I will be going out for some fun with Joel and Camille ???

So on Monday, Mummy and Auntie Winnie brought us to The Fidgets at Turf City. Its a big indoor playground and we can stay there the whole day with an entrance fee of $15 for each child.

So once we entered, we wasted no time at all!

There's this very tall slide. When this video was taken, it is the first time that I took it, and I manage to hold back my tears, although you can hear from the video that I said "i am like going to cry". The 2nd time when joel and I went back, I hesitated for a very long time before everybody urged me to try again, although I was quite scared by my first experience. So I when I finally mustered up enough courage to try, I actually stretched out my hands mid-way down and held onto the edge of the slides and stoppped there. And I started to cry. Mummy was trying very hard to coax me down the slide but I just sat there and held onto the slide tightly and refused to let go. This really made Mummy panic cos she was too big sized to go through all the kids sized maze to go and rescue me, and I just refused to come down.

Fortunately, Auntie Winnie came to my rescue as she was petite enough to squeeze through the kid sized structures and rode down the slide with me. After that, Mummy carried me to the side and tried to console me, and explained to me that if I am scared, then don't go back to the slide, don't go there then refuse to come down. BUT, after I stopped crying, I requested Auntie Winnie to go down the slide with me AGAIN?!!! Aiyo Mummy was so paiseh cos although Auntie WInnie is petite, its still not easy to squeeze through kids sized structures to get up onto the slide. So Mummy made me promise that I can only go onto it one last time with Auntie Winnie. And if I wanted to go again, I have to go on my own. And I readily agreed, and went on to explore other parts of the playground and quickly forgot all about the crying incident.

Then we decided to explore the toddler area, and also to let Auntie Winnie take a rest, since Camille keeps wanting Auntie Winnie to accompany her inside the big playground. Here, she can play on her own.

"Flinstone" Cars and tricycles.

Smaller verson of the Playground.

Because this playground was so small, I had to find extra entertainment for myself. So I took something to form a barrier at the end of the slide and collected balls there, so that I can have a special effect slide!!! Weeeeee!!!!

We had lunch there. As their customers are mainly western expats, the cafe there only serves pasta, pizza, fried food and sandwiches. Mummy already knew this from the website, so on our way there in the morning, she already psycho-ed me that I cannot be picky like I normally do and i have to finish whatever Mummy ordered. If not, she'll bring me out for lunch, and we will not return to the playground.

Since I was having phlegm, so no fried food for me. And I simply hate pasta and pizza. So there left sandwiches. Mummy ordered an Egg Mayo Ciabatta for me. Although I obviously didn't like it, I still ate without complaining. Joel also didn't quite like the food, and was trying to negotiate with Auntie Winnie. I even told Joel "you better finish your food, if not your Mummy bring you out for lunch, you can't come back to play already!!". So we actually finished our food without much complains, food that I normally will not touch!!
Auntie Winnie was saying that the cafe can serve anything, and the kids will still eat!! Hahahah How true!!

After lunch we resumed our play. But I still didn't attempt the tall slide that I was scared of. However, when Mummy told me we are leaving soon, I actually went to try out the tall slide again and I loved it!! THen I went on it again, and again, and again for another 10 times. I even went to attempt this 3 storey high slide that I didn't dare to initially, and I loved it again!! And went for it another 5-6 times. So Mummy's "Leaving in 10 min" became nearly 40 min!!! But she is glad that I managed to overcome my phobia so she let me continue.

We played from 10 am and finally left at about 3.30pm. We really enjoyed ourselves tremendously. Was telling Daddy excitedly in the evening about it. I requested Daddy to bring me there again, but that's when I was told that place will be torn down in Feb 2012!!! AWWWW!!!!! But I am looking forward to my birthday party next month, when my classmates and I will be playing at another indoor playground!!!

Singapore 2012 Wishes

At the Millenia Walk, there was this counter where they were getting people to pen down their wishes for Singapore 2012 on a white ball. And on the last day of 2011 during the countdown, the organizer would then float all the balls on the water

So I decided to draw something on the ball, and wrote my name on it.

And then I thought why not do a second drawing ... and this time, can you guess what were the odd-looking shapes beside the butterfly ?? They are SUPER BIG raindrops .... and then I followed up with some really BLACK AND DARK clouds !!!

Oops ... I did not mean to wish Singapore to have more floods in 2012 .... Haha. But isn't that the norm for Singapore recently ???

Hi-5 and Dora Shows

It is the time of the year for me to 追星 across the whole Singapore. And today, it started with Hi-5 show at the Millena Walk.

And guessed who I met ?? Olivia, my classmate !!!! And her Daddy queued up really early, so he managed to get a sticker to let Olivia take photos with the cast after the performance.

Waiting for the show to start .... And I loved Hi5. Used to have a lot of their VCDs, and now I pass those along to 表妹. So now she is also their fan. Unfortunately, 表妹 was recovering from her fever, so she could not come with me

And the cast appeared at 1 pm !!! And I even know the guy from the left is called Tim. Forgot the rest of their names. Haha

Mummy did not go in with me, since only one parent is allowed to accompany me. So she watched me from far and took some videos of me dancing along with the cast

And after shopping for a while at Suntec City (we went to Toys R Us, where Daddy and Mummy were shopping for my birthday present .... hooray !!!), we drove over to Raffles City, for the 4 pm, Dora The Explorer show. Does it seem like I am one of those teenagers who would book a cab to go from one place to another to see their idols, except that Daddy is my chauffeur. Haha

Pre-performance warm-up .....

And Dora, Boots and Diego finally appeared !!!

And the naughty Swiper !!!

They even had animals on the stage !!!

And since I skipped my usual afternoon nap (only closed my eyes for 15 mins in Daddy's arms), I slept really early at 815 pm. And the following Monday, my school would be closed, so Mummy is going to bring me for an outing with Auntie Winnie, Joel and Camille (too bad, the Daddies got to work, haha).

If nothing goes wrong, next weekend shall be 小叮当. Hope 表妹 can join me
