Taiwan Trip - Day 3 (Farm Stay)

Day 3 is when we set off to stay in a farm for one night. The farm is called Wei Chuan Pushin Ranch. Its only about 20min drive from Zhongli.

Had a quad room (since its on promotion) ... the room is clean and neat, with all the necessary facilities. Even had a flat screen TV.

Bath room facilities are simple but you get everything that you need, with hot water available.

Daddy took a picture of the beds (After I woke up from my afternoon nap) ....

And see the blur look on my face ????

This is the surroundings of our room ....

Once we have settled down our stuff, we went to tour the farm proper. Since this is a farm, there are obviously cows .....

Taking a slow stroll

European - themed garden. The taxi driver who drove us in told us that they recently held a mass wedding for 100 couples here. Really very nice.

The lake with swan boat rides. Very nice scenery.

Since it is a cow's ranch, there were a cow and an ox made from flowers.

The first stop is a performance where the cow boy round up the goats. Then we got a chance to get close to the goats.

Feeding the cows.

As it is a weekend, there are additional activities such as pigs race and goat races. We were given slips to place our bet on which one will be the champion.

Feeding the calf.
Milking the cow. Mummy thinks that they should have stationed a staff there to make sure that people milk the cow properly. Mummy knew how to do it as she learned it during her farm stay in Australia many years ago. But there was no staff around, and there were a lot of people who did not know the proper way to milk the cow, and was obviously hurting the cow when they couldn't get milk out and kept pulling. Poor cow!!!

Feeding the rabbits

Taking a photo on the horse carriage.

There is actually a shop there that sells all the bbq food and stuff, ready prepared. And you can just buy and start your own bbq there. And that's what we did for dinner!

The public bbq pits. The weather is perfect for bbq.

The sakura trees around the garden. But there are only a few here in the ranch.

We tried our hands at making milk soap!

After lunch, Joel and I just ran freely around the field. Its very rare to get such a big space in Singapore. And the cool weather was just perfect. Then we decided to have a race... and the winner is.....

Then we went to participate in a lot of kiddy activities!

Then we went to the cow's museum, where there is everything to know about cows.

1 and 2 month old cow foetuses.

How the cow and ox mate.

How milk is pastuerized and packaged. Mummy is quite impressed from the facilities, she says its similar to Pharma standards! In fact Pushin milk is widely available in the convenience shops in Taiwan, and I have been drinking them throughout the trip.

Then at night, after my nap, we had bbq near our room.

We had beef, western sausage, taiwan sausage, rice sausage ( 米肠), cuttlefish ball, sweet potato, chicken wing, corn, bean sprouts, green pepper. Daddy and Uncle Telang went to order it when I was having a nap, and they delivered together with all the accessories, including the sauces.

The weather became very cold at night, so we were all wearing jackets and still freezing cold.

As usual, kaypo me has to help with the fanning.
These are the toys that we won when we played games in the night market. A very big space which is excellent for us to play.

As the night fell, it became very cold and foggy. In fact, Mummy learned from the news later that the Taoyuan international airport was closed for a few hours that night due to poor visibility. See the camera actually capturing the water droplets.

And that wrapped up our day at the farm. It is a commercialized farm that is targeted at young children. We enjoyed ourselves tremendously. But next time we shall try a real working farm since I will be older and would be able to understand better
