Chinese New Year - 年初二

On the second day of CNY, we have the customary 开年 lunch. Like last year, its held in our house, with Mummy as the chef.

Wow... look at the spread of food.....

Mummy made yusheng with smoked salmon.....


Started off the lunch with 捞鱼生



Chicken stock with crab meat, black fungus and enoki mushroom.... Its a replacement for sharks fin.

Steamed golden promfret.... a very BIG one..... cooked by Mummy

Grilled king tiger prawns with garlic made by Mummy. Everyone said this is the best dish!

And also grilled teriyaki chicken drumlets.

After lunch, its my turn to cook up a storm in the kitchen for everyone!


After my afternoon nap, I changed into my cheongsam and went to 公公's house for another gathering. See my pretty pigtails, courtesy of 舅母

Then it was 表妹's turn to tie her hair.

I was the 大姐大 for the night, teaching the 2 babies to draw... BUT actually the little baby on my right is Grandauntie Verity's daughter..... which makes her my AUNTIE (although she's only 1 year old)!!!!

Yusheng, Mummy prepared the ingredients and the jelly fish, but the radish was made by Erle - jie jie....



All relatives from 公公's side were there.... 很热闹



We catered a mini buffet from Chu Wei San Tong.... taste was quite good, but because its a mini buffet, it doesn't come with warmer, so the food turned cold quite fast. The portion is not a lot, but since everyone is quite stuffed from all the CNY binging, there was still leftover.

And I was such a good girl, sitting there quietly eating my noodles, veg and fish all by myself while Daddy and Mummy were chatting. After I finished, I still asked for more. All my relatives were very impressed by me and commented that I have became such a good girl (cos they have witnessed my horrible feeding habits when I was a baby). Mummy and Daddy really felt that I have grown up and is now very 董事

After dinner, I asked 舅母 to bring out 表妹's baby lego so that we can all play....



The girl in white is Maegan, about 4 months younger than me.... and also my AUNTIE!!



Enjoying my CNY so far!!!! Looking forward to more gatherings, food and fun!! :) :)

Chinese New Year - 年初一

In my new dress, new socks and new shoes, ready to go and 拜年. The Minnie Mouse bag (bought from Japan Disneyland) is for me to collect angbaos

Taking photos with everyone ..... 姑姑 has not changed into her new clothes so she refused to take photos ... and 叔叔 was still SLEEPING !!!!

And Daddy took a photo of me, while I used my to toy camera to capture a picture of him ....

Showing 姑姑 how I turned around and around to make my dress swirl around and around .... till I turned giddy. Ha ha

And now that most of my allergies are gone, it was indulge time ... in new year goodies !!! Almost every goody, except for the spicy ebi roll. I took quite a few pieces of bak gua

According to Cantonese custom, no lives should be taken on the first day of Chinese New Year. So lunch was a big plate of vegetarian dish (with mock meat and cabbage) with rice.

After lunch, we went to 公公 place to 拜年。舅舅，舅母 and 表妹 have gone to JB to visit 舅母 family so I can only play with 表妹 on 初二. I took my afternoon nap before we proceeded to 大表姨 place for dinner

大表姨 place is really spacious, and there was this little corner with all the toys. The toys are for Valerie and Isabelle. Since Isabelle is less than 1 yr old, so I played with Valerie (about 2+).

And the slide was too small for me !!!

We got sick of the slide and went into the playhouse



Cooking was our next game ...




And Melissa jie-jie joined us when she arrived



Even Mark gor-gor was interested in our cooking session. He 'cooked' the phone for us



And after I saw what Mark gor-gor did with the red bouncing ball, I followed suit. Valerie was too small to play with the ball, so she hopped behind me, while I bounced on the ball. And hopping was really tiring, since Valerie sweated like crazy, while I was simply bouncing away with ease .... haha.

CNY Reunion Dinner - Part 2

On 除夕, we went down to 爷爷 and 奶奶 house for our reunion dinner with everyone. 姑姑 decided to make me do some yoga before dinner .... to make me hungrier so that I can eat more later

We had steamboat for dinner ... and the spread was really good.

After dinner, we played memory game using playing cards .... been a long time since I played that game and I still enjoyed it

I was so tired that I fell asleep in the car on the way home ....

CNY Reunion Lunch - Part 1

We had our reunion lunch with 公公，舅舅，舅母 and 表妹 on Sunday at our place. And the spread was really good, with different variety (all prepared by Mummy)

Cream of corn for soup, green leafy spinach with razor clams, braised chicken wings, fried sotong balls, fried ebi, chinese sausage and ....

Smoked salmon !!!

Everyone was busy eating, so no photos were taken during the makan. But after that, it was play-time with 舅母 and 表妹

And Daddy tried to catch as many different photos of 表妹, but the active nature of 表妹, it was a challenge to his camera

Pillow pillow .... comfortable to lie on

Why must 姑丈 keep taking photos of me ???
